Mavs Finish Road Trip With 2-0 Loss at UTEP

OMAHA, Neb. - The season-opening road trip for the Omaha women's soccer team came to an end on Sunday with a 2-0 loss at UTEP.
The Miners (2-0) opened the scoring in the 12th minute. A long throw-in found the foot of Jade Babcock in the box, and Babcock slotted a ball to Angela Cutaia for a tap-in finish.
UTEP doubled its lead in the 42nd minute when Tayler O'Hayre took a free kick from 45 yards away. O'Hayre's kick bounced in the box and hit the left post before rolling into the back of the net.
The Miners outshot UNO 15-6 overall and 9-4 in shots on goal. Chelsi Rohloff and Jordyn Braun each had two shots on goal for UNO (0-2), as the Mavs struggled to break through the Miner defense. Meaghan Clark made seven saves for Omaha.
The Mavs will play their home opener this Friday against Northern Colorado at 3 p.m. at the UNO Soccer Field.
