OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's soccer team lost a 4-2 road decision to Saint Louis University on Saturday afternoon in Saint Louis, Mo.
Omaha is now 2-8 on the season. Saint Louis improves to 5-5 with the win.
Omaha scored the first goal of the game. Chelsi Rohloff gathered a pass from Kyla Booker and laced a shot from 20 yards away from the goal that found the back of the net just 4:32 into the game. The lead was short lived as Saint Louis answered with a game tying goal at the 8:01 mark in the first half. The Billikins took a 2-1 lead at the 34:54 mark in the first half.
Saint Louis scored on a header in the 52nd minute to take a 3-1 lead. The Billikins got behind the Maverick defense with under ten minutes left to go in the game to score their fourth goal of the game. Layla Ashouri scored her first goal of the season in the 90th minute to make the final score 4-2.
Chelsi Rohloff had a team high four shots and a goal. Layla Ashouri and Kyla Booker had the other two shots for Omaha.
Haley Shelton faced 29 shots and made 11 saves.
Omaha opens Summit League play on Friday, October 3 against the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. Kick-off is set for 4:00 p.m.
