Omaha Finishes Fall Play at ITA Regional

STILLWATER, Okla. – The Omaha men's tennis team concluded play at the ITA Central Region Championships on Friday afternoon at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center on the campus of Oklahoma State.
Razvan Grigorescu and Nathan Reekie each won first round matchups to advance to Friday's round of 64. The freshmen duo came up short in their second matches of the tournament.
Grigorescu edged Jake Jacoby of Iowa, 6-7, 6-2, 6-4, while dropping his next match to Oklahoma State's Tristan Meraut, 6-4, 6-1. Reekie defeated South Dakota State's Chuck Tang, 7-5, 7-5, before falling to Oklahoma State's Jurence Mendoza in the next round, 6-3, 3-6, 6-1.
Doubles action included a victory for Reekie and Matt Dunn. The pair defeated Alvaro Santamaria and Zac Price of Oral Roberts, 8-4, before falling to Wichita State's Miroslav Herzan and Haru Inoue, 9-7.
The Mavericks return to the courts for the dual-season starting in late January.
