Omaha Opens Home Slate on Friday

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's tennis team plays host to its first home matches of the season this Friday, Feb. 5 at Miracle Hill Golf and Tennis Center. UNO hosts Green Bay at 9:30 a.m., Hastings College at 2:30 p.m., and Doane College at 4:15 p.m.
The Mavericks come into the weekend with a record of 1-3. Last weekend in Des Moines, Iowa, Omaha picked up its first win of the season against North Dakota (5-2) and dropped matches to Drake (4-0) and Iowa State (4-0).
Green Bay enters the weekend with a record of 0-1, having lost to Cardinal Stritch, 6-1. Friday marks the first meeting between UNO and Green Bay.
Hastings College comes to Omaha with an 0-1 season mark after falling to Fort Hays State, 8-1. Omaha and Hastings last met on March 9, 2014, with Omaha prevailing 7-0.
Doane College owns an 0-1 record entering the weekend, having lost to Fort Hays State, 5-4. Friday's matchup will be the first meeting between Omaha and Doane.
The Mavericks' next match is set for Wednesday, Feb. 10 as they visit Creighton at Hanscom Park Tennis Center at 12:30 p.m.
