Omaha Travels South for Spring Break Swing

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's tennis team heads south this week, taking on a trio of matches during spring break. The Mavericks begin by taking on Alcorn State on Tuesday, March 22 at 1 p.m. in Vicksburg, Miss., then conclude their trip with a doubleheader against Grambling State on Wednesday, March 23 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Grambling, La.
UNO enters spring break with a 5-7 (0-1 Summit League) after falling to Nebraska, 4-0, on March 12.
Juniors Kenzie Hill (5-7) and Hylan Miller (5-3) and freshman Janelle Wilson (5-5) lead the Mavericks in singles victories. The pair of Miller and sophomore Michelle Lo leads Omaha in doubles with a record of 5-2.
Alcorn State enters the match with an overall record of 7-12. The Braves won their last match, defeating Southern, 4-2. Alcorn State is led by Aida Kelic, who has a 7-8 mark in singles play.
Grambling State comes into the doubleheader with an overall record of 0-9. The Tigers fell to Northwestern State in their last match, 6-0. They are led by Phonephathep Philavvong, who sports a 1-6 singles record.
Omaha returns home for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 2, hosting College of Saint Mary and Northwestern (Iowa) at Miracle Hill Golf and Tennis Center.
