Omaha Caps Regular Season With Three Home Matches

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's tennis team concludes its regular season this week at the friendly confines of Miracle Hill Tennis Center, hosting three Summit League matches in four days. On Thursday, April 21 Omaha takes on IUPUI at 8:30 a.m., followed by Western Illinois on Friday, April 22 at Noon. After an off day Saturday, Omaha caps the regular season with a matchup against South Dakota State on Sunday, April 24 at 10 a.m.
The Mavericks are coming off their first league victory, having defeated South Dakota, 4-3, on April 12 in Omaha. UNO improved to 10-10 (1-2 Summit League) record on the season with the win.
Freshman Janelle Wilson comes into the week with a three-match winning streak to pace her team-leading eight wins this season. In doubles, junior Hylan Miller and sophomore Michelle Lo lead Omaha with a 9-3 mark.
IUPUI comes into Thursday's matchup sporting a 6-15 (1-3 Summit League) record on the season. Brigitte Swartwood leads the Jaguars with nine singles wins this year, having compiled a record of 9-5.
Western Illinois enters Friday's tilt against the Mavs with a 6-11 (0-4 Summit League) mark on the season. The Leathernecks are paced by Courtney Lubbers (7-9), who has a team-high seven wins from the No. 1 position.
South Dakota State carries a record of 13-9 (2-2 Summit League) into the weekend and plays Western Illinois on Saturday before facing the Mavericks on Sunday. The Jackrabbits are led by Iasmin Rosa, who has posted a 15-7 singles record on the season, primarily from the No. 1 position.
At the conclusion of regular-season play, the top four teams in the Summit League qualify for the Summit League Championship. The event is set for April 29-30 in Omaha.
