Hansen Announces Trio of Roster Additions for 2017-18

OMAHA, Neb. -- Head coach Derrin Hansen announced Tuesday the additions of Wanjang Tut, Lamar Wofford-Humphrey and Evan Tricker to the Omaha men's basketball program in 2017-18.
"We're excited about the addition of these three young men in our basketball program," Hansen said. "All three have good size and versatility, which blends into how we play. They will bring us immediate help and give us versatility well into the future."
WANJANG TUT

Tut comes to Omaha after a year at The Skill Factory Prep in Atlanta, Ga., where he played for Coach Robert Johnson. Previously, he was a four-year letterwinner for Coach Kevin Kobbs at Omaha Burke High School, earning honorable mention all-state and All-Metro recognition three straight years. As a senior in 2015-16, Tut averaged 12.5 points, 10.1 rebounds, 2.8 blocks and 1.4 assists per contest.
Tut also played for the South Sudan National Team and was part of the Team Nebraska Express AAU program.
"Wanjang is a skilled forward who spent a year at a prep school, which gives him additional physical maturity that most freshmen don't have," Hansen said. "He also will spend this year as a redshirt, adding to his skills and learning our program, which will make him a valued member of our team in the coming years."
LAMAR WOFFORD-HUMPHREY

Wofford-Humphrey is a graduate transfer who spent the last two seasons at Eastern Michigan. In 2016-17, Wofford-Humphrey appeared in 24 games with two starts for the Eagles, averaging 1.7 points and 1.9 rebounds over 7.7 minutes per game. He scored a season-high eight points with two boards in nine minutes vs. Long Beach State and pulled down a season-best seven rebounds vs. Madonna.
Wofford-Humphrey began his collegiate career at Butler Community College, where he averaged 11.0 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. He shot .591 from the floor and helped his Grizzly squad to the semifinal of the Region VI Championships.
A native of Chicago, Ill., Wofford-Humphrey was a four-year letterwinner for Coach Jim MacLaughlin at Homewood-Flossmoor High School. He helped the Vikings to two conference championships over his prep career.
"We look for Lamar to add depth to our frontcourt at the four and five positions," Hansen said. "He brings size and athleticism, as well as rebounding and offensive skills to our team. His previous Division I experience will prove beneficial to this year's success."
EVAN TRICKER
F, 6-11, 180, Naples, Fla. (First Baptist Academy/DME Academy)
Tricker played the 2016-17 season at DME Academy in Daytona Beach, Fla., where he averaged 14.1 points and 9.0 rebounds per game and shot 82 percent from the line.
As a high school player, Tricker played for Coach Scott Stewart at First Baptist Academy. He led his squad in rebounding and blocks and was its second-leading scorer, averaging 10.6 points, 8.4 boards and 3.1 blocks per game. Over his career, Tricker set single-season school records in rebounds (160) and blocks (59) and earned invitations to the all-star games in both Collier and Lee counties.
Tricker also comes armed with international game experience, as he played for Montverde Academy in the summer of his sophomore year and competed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
"Evan brings us length and versatility at the frontcourt positions," Hansen said. "He spent the last year in prep school honing his skills and adding size to his frame. We're anxious to see how quickly Evan gets comfortable with our style of play, as his skill set fits our program."
