Mavericks Gear Up for Nebraska Tune-Up

OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha track & field team will travel to Lincoln for the Nebraska Tune-Up hosted by Nebraska on Friday. It will be the final regular season meet before the Summit League Championships the following week. The action is slated to start at noon.
The Mavericks last competed this past Friday and Saturday at the South Dakota State Classic and set season bests, personal bests and all-time bests.
Willa Koenig ran the third fastest indoor 5,000 meter in Omaha history in 17:51.94. She finished 14th.Â
Brekk Flax ran a new personal best in the 200 meter in 27.02 seconds while Daylee Olson ran a season best time of 27.16 seconds.
In the long jump, Noni Henderson set a new season best with a mark of 16 feet 6 inches (5.05 meters).
Renata Valquier Chavez posted a season best time in the mile in 5:23.04.
Jaycee Schettler set two personal bests, one in the long jump in 15 feet 7 inches (4.75 meters) and the other in the shot put at 34 feet 9 inches (10.61 meters).
Just one week after her school record in the weight throw, Anna Edet nearly broke it again with a toss of 56 feet 4 inches (17.18 meters).
Next weekend, the Mavericks will compete for the Summit League Indoor Championship on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23-24 at North Dakota State. Competition begins each day at 9:30 a.m.
