LINCOLN, Neb. - The Omaha track & field team had a round of all-time bests, personal bests, season bests and a victory at the Nebraska Tune-Up on Friday at Nebraska.
Anna Edet once again broke her school record in the weight throw with a mark of 56 feet 8 inches (17.27 meters). She finished ninth.
Lauren Houston took home the victory in the 800 meter in dominating fashion, besting the field by nearly four seconds. Her time of 2:12.45 is a new season best.
Stephanie Ahrens raised her own league-leading high jump mark to 5-09 3/4 (1.77), taking fourth in the event.
"I was blown away today," said head coach Chris Richardson. "The amount of personal bests or season bests by everyone might be one of the highest I have ever had a team experience. We now need to ride this momentum into the Summit League Championships."
Willa Koenig tied the sixth-best 3,000 meter time in school history, clocking in at 10:15.99, good for fourth. It was the fifth fastest 3,000 meter in Omaha history.
Sasha Quattlebaum set two new personal bests Friday. First in the 60 meter hurdles, she ran 8.84 seconds, which is now the sixth fastest in Omaha history. Then, she took third in the triple jump jump of 37 feet 4 inches (11.38 meters).
Noni Henderson also competed in the triple jump, finishing fifth with a mark of 36 feet 8.5 inches (11.19 meters).
Anita Jenkins set a new personal best in the mile in 5:15.72 and finished 14th. Kayla Sabotin set a season best time of 5:15.92 and finished 15th.
Scarlett Hill completed the 200 meter in 26.79 seconds, a new personal best for the freshman.
In the 400 meter, Daylee Olson ran a season-best time of 1:00.66.
With a fresh batch of personal bests and season bests, the Mavericks are carrying momentum into the Summit League Championships, which take place next Friday, Feb. 24 and Saturday Feb. 25 in Fargo, N.D.
