McALLEN, Texas – The Omaha women's golf team sits in 10th place after the first two rounds of the UT Rio Grande Valley Invitational.
The Mavericks shot team rounds of 326 and 317 at the McAllen Country Club to sit at 643 for the 54-hole event. Texas State leads with a score of 575. Texas A&M Corpus Christi is second at 596, and St. Edward's is third at 614.
Megan Vetrovsky leads the Mavericks in scoring and is tied for 31st in the field of 74 golfers with a total score of 158. She shot 82 in the first round but came back with a card of 76 in round two.
Jordan York fired back-to-back rounds of 80 to put her at 160, second on the team and tied for 39th overall. She's five strokes ahead of teammate Hannah Hunke who shot 86 and 79 for a total of 165, good for a tie for 54th.
Sami Langford is one stroke back at 166, a total that included rounds of 84 and 82. She's in 58th place. Mandy Boyle finished the scoring for UNO with rounds of 80 and 95 for a score of 175.
The final round begins on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
