NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. – The Omaha women's golf team is in seventh place after the first 18 holes of the Summit League Championship being held at ArborLinks.

The Mavericks shot an opening-round team score of 325, eight strokes behind sixth-place Oral Roberts. North Dakota State paced the field on the first day with a three-over score of 291, 10 strokes ahead of second-place Denver. Western Illinois is third at 306.

Juniors Mandy Boyle and Jordan York led the Mavericks on the first day of play with matching rounds of 80, good for a tie for 21st in the field of 40 golfers.

Megan Vetrovsky is third on the team and in a tie for 30th with a score of 82. She's one stroke ahead of teammate Samantha Chong who shot 83 to tie for 32nd.

Sami Langford closed the scoring for the Mavericks at 85.

The second round of the three-round tournament begins Monday at 8 a.m.
