Omaha Men’s Tennis Earns Academic Recognition from ITA

OMAHA, Neb. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association has announced its annual academic awards, with the Omaha men's tennis team designated an ITA All-Academic Team and four players recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes for 2017-18.
The Mavericks compiled a 3.418 cumulative GPA in the 2017-18 academic year for ITA All-Academic Team recognition. ITA Scholar-Athlete award winners included Marko Minic, Luke Moorhead, Nathan Reekie and Alex Woodward.
The Mavericks were one of just four squads from the Summit League recognized as an ITA All-Academic Team in 2017-18. Denver, Oral Roberts and Valparaiso also earned team honors.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or above on a 4.00 scale. All varsity letter winners were factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
In order to earn the ITA Scholar-Athlete honor, a player must meet three criteria. One, the student-athlete must be a varsity letter winner, have a GPA of at least 3.50 on the 4.00 scale for the current academic year and must have been enrolled at the present school for at least two semesters.
