Mavericks Eighth After Round One of UNO Invitational

NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. – The Omaha women's golf team is in eighth place after the first 18 holes of the UNO Invitational, their season-opening tournament at ArborLinks.
The second round was scheduled to be completed on day one, but a lightning delay of more than an hour forced the suspension of round two. Those golfers still on the course will finish their second round before the third round starts on Saturday.
The Mavericks shot a team score of 325 to open round one. South Dakota State leads after the first day with a score of 298. Northern Iowa is second at 311, a stroke ahead of North Dakota in third.
Senior Jordan York led the Mavericks on day one with a score of 79 that included an eagle on the 504-yard par-5 16th hole. She's tied for 13th in the field of 59 golfers.
Samantha Chong is second on the team and tied for 28th overall after an opening round of 81. She is one stroke ahead of freshman Zora Gittens who carded an 82 in her first collegiate round to tie for 39th.
Mandy Boyle shot 83 and is tied for 45th, and Hannah Hunke carded an 84 to put her in a tie for 47th.
Sami Langford, playing as an individual, shot 88 and is tied for 50th.
