Mavericks Head To Nebraska This Weekend

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha cross country team returns to action at the Greeno/Dirksen Invite hosted by Nebraska on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 10 a.m.
The 6k race will be run at Mahoney Golf Course in Lincoln.
Last season, the Mavericks finished fifth among Division I teams at the meet. They were led by then-freshman Emily Johnson who finished 26th overall in a time of 22:47.5.
Johnson paced the Mavericks in their first meet of the 2018 season, the Augustana Twilight on Aug. 31. The native of Elkhorn, Neb. put up a time of 18:14.21 over the 5K course in Sioux Falls, S.D. to finish 13th in the field of 277 runners. It was the third time in seven career meets that she has led the team.
At Augustana, Omaha finished eighth out of 25 teams. The Mavericks' other scorers in the meet included Annie Catania, Anita Jenkins, Ivanna Uribe and Heidi Hall.
Following the meet in Lincoln, the Mavericks will be off until Friday, Sept. 28 when they head to Indiana to take part in the Joe Piane Invitational at Notre Dame.
