OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha volleyball program got back in the win column with a 3-0 sweep over the visiting South Dakota State Jackrabbits.
The Mavericks (11-11, 4-4) defeated SDSU (5-15, 2-6) by a score of 25-17, 25-11, 25-13.
NOTES
• Sadie Limback recorded 19 kills on an astounding, .630 hitting percentage.
• Isabella Sade followed up with 10 kills on .444 hitting.
• Omaha has now won five-straight over the Jackrabbits.
• The Mavericks' .424 hitting marks the highest hitting percentage of the season.
INSIDE SET ONE
Omaha fell behind early, 9-6, and was forced to call a timeout. The Mavericks, however, came out of the break and blistered off a short run that gave the a 12-10 advantage. Omaha eventually pulled away with three-straight points off kills by Sade and Limback, along with an SDSU attack error. Omaha never relinquished the lead and rattled off three-straight points for the 25-17 opening-set victory.
INSIDE SET TWO
The Mavericks jolted a 10-3 run that gave them all the momentum they needed. The lead increased to 12 points at 17-5 after a pair of kills from Limback and Anna Blaschko, capped off by a Kenzie Michalek service ace. Omaha eventually cruised to a 25-11 win, that clinched by an ace from Limback.
INSIDE SET THREE
Similar to the first set, Omaha had to battle from behind and eventually controlled the match. The Mavericks trailed 6-5, but managed to pull ahead 13-9. A 9-2 run followed and put Omaha ahead 22-11 late in the frame. From there, the final three points were secured for the match victory via back-to-back kills by Blaschko and a kill by Limback.
