
Omaha Powers Past Chicago State, 6-1

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's tennis team dispatched Chicago State 6-1 on Saturday at the Miracle Hill Tennis Center. With the win, the Mavericks improved to 4-8 on the season, while the Cougars moved to 2-11.
Omaha picked up a pair of 6-1 wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to claim the doubles point. Chicago State did not field a No. 3 team.
Ethan Henry picked up the forfeit at No. 6. Matt Dunn made quick work of Cody Wurzelbacher on court 5, defeating the Cougar junior by a 6-0, 6-1 score. Abdoul Ouattara clinched the match for the Mavericks with a 7-5, 7-5 victory over Jakov Suler at No. 1.
Chicago State's Gonzalo Martinez fought back from a set down to defeat Hugo Piles Ballester 4-6, 6-4, 10-6 at No. 4.
Nathan Reekie and Davis Lawley each came from a set down to make the final match score 6-1. On court 2, Reekie dropped the first set to Feliz Savard 6-4 before taking the next two sets 6-2, 6-2. Lawley defeated George Botha at No. 3, 5-7, 7-6 (8), 10-6.
