Mavericks Open Fall Play at Iowa Western

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's golf team begins a three-tournament fall schedule by taking part in the Iowa Western Intercollegiate Showcase on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 28-29.
The 36-hole tournament features 18 holes each day beginning at 9 a.m. at the Bent Tree Golf Course in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
The Mavericks return five players from the 2019-20 season including their top three scorers in junior Zora Gittens, sophomore Mandi Granato and senior Hannah Hunke.
Gittens led the team with a stroke average of 80.4 while playing in all 17 rounds. Her best outing came at the Kiawah Island Classic in March when she shot a 54-hole score of 230, 14 over par. She led the Mavericks in scoring in three of six events.
Granato was second in team scoring with an average of 81.1. She put up a career best 54-hole score of 233 at the Rose City Collegiate in early October in Oregon. She also led the team in scoring in one tournament.
Hunke finished third on the team, shooting a stroke average of 82.2 while also playing in every event. She posted her best score of the season, 234, also at the Rose City Collegiate.
The Mavericks also are scheduled to host the Maverick Invitational at The Creek on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 12-13 and take part in the Payne Stewart Intercollegiate at Missouri State on Oct. 19-20.
