Omaha steps out of Summit League action with a three-game non-conference series with BYU this week at Tal Anderson Field. The Mavericks and Cougars take the diamond at 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday night while wrapping up the series on Saturday at 12 p.m.

Friday night's game will be broadcast live on NET with Larry Punteney on the call and Jeff Leise providing color commentary. Links to live stats and video are available on OMavs.com.

Around the Horn

The Mavericks are 12-16 (7-5 Summit League) on the season and third in the Summit League standings after splitting last weekend's series at South Dakota State.
Chris Esposito leads Omaha at the plate this season, hitting .356 with four doubles, three triples, six homers, 28 RBI and 22 runs.
Mike Boeve is hitting .310 with 11 doubles and 14 RBI, followed by Brett Bonar (.298, six doubles, two home runs) and Masen Prososki (.295, seven doubles, two triples and two homers).
Joey Machado is 2-3 on the season with a 3.71 ERA and 39 strikeouts while Richie Holetz is 2-2 with a 3.77 ERA and team-high 41 strikeouts.
Tanne Howe has a team-high 14 appearances on the mound for the Mavericks, followed by Harrison Kreiling and Josiah Scott with eight appearances.
As a team, Omaha is hitting .269 with 157 runs, 249 hits, 54 doubles, nine triples and 21 home runs this season.
The Maverick pitching staff has a combined ERA of 6.25 while striking out 223 batters in 236.1 innings of work.

Scouting the BYU Cougars
The BYU Cougars enter this week's series with an 11-17 overall record and 6-6 mark in West Coast Conference play after defeating Utah on Tuesday night, 7-4. Andrew Pintar has three homers with a team-high eight doubles and 22 runs scored while hitting .290 in 28 starts this season. Joshua Cowden has three home runs and three doubles with 14 RBI in 28 games this season, including 25 starts.

Easton Walker is 1-2 on the mound in seven starts on the season with a 1.59 ERA and 36 strikeouts in 39.2 innings. Bryce Robison is 4-2 with a 4.50 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 15 appearances on the mound this season.

As a team, the Cougars are hitting .214 with 120 runs, 198 hits, 48 doubles, four triples and 14 home runs in 28 games. The BYU pitching staff has a combined ERA of 4.41 with 243 strikeouts while allowing 151 runs, 119 earned, on 227 hits in 242.2 innings.

Head coach Mike Littlewood is in his ninth season at BYU and has a record of 233-186 with the Cougars. Littlewood is in his 15^th season overall as a head coach with a record of 412-301.
