Scouting the Lindenwood lions
After an 0-2 start to the season featuring losses to Nebraska and Iowa State, the Lions notched their first win with an 83-52 victory over Hannibal-LaGrange on Monday. In the opening game of the Air Force Classic, they fell 58-76 against the host school.
Lindenwood's top offensive player this season is senior forward Keenon Cole, who boasts 17.8 pp and 71 total points. Through four games he has is shooting 24-for-48 (.500) overall and 19-for-20 on free throws. He also scored 20 points in both games against Iowa State and Hannibal-LaGrange.
Senior forward David Ware is currently the team's top rebounder with 5.8 rpg (23 total). On Monday, pulled down a season-high 10 boards, while also gong 4-for-4 from the charity stripe.
Kyle Gerdeman is in his fifth season at the helm of Lindenwood, owning a 46-67 record in that time. In the team's first season in the OVC last year, he led the Lions to a OVC Tournament berth, falling to Southeast Missouri State in the first round.

- Omaha opened the the Air Force Classic yesterday with a 89-86 win over William & Mary, giving the Mavericks their first road win of the season.
- Frankie Fidler had his most complete game yet, shooting 6-for-9 and making 12-of-13 from the charity stripe to total 26 points, all while crashing the boards for 10 total rebounds to earn both his and Omaha's first double-double of the season. This also gives Fidler four career games with at least 10 free throws made. He topped 900 career points on Thursday too.
- Tony Osburn has his best game yet this season, shooting 3-for-7 and sinking two from behind the arc for his first double-digit scoring game this year with 10 points.
- Similarly, Luke Jungers put on his best performance of the year so far, scoring 10 points and going 3-for-7 on three-pointers. This was the sixth time in his career that Jungers has made at least three 3-PT FGs. Likewise, this was also his sixth career game with at least five total rebounds.
- Like Osburn and Jungers, JJ White also came off the bench and had his first double-digit scoring game of the season after shooting 4-for-6 with a pair of three-pointers.
- Fidler was Omaha's lone All-Summit honoree last season, earning an Honorable Mention. He led Omaha in scoring (14.7 ppg), rebounding (5.8 rpg), steals (1.2 spg), and free throw percentage (.887), with his FT% in particular ranking in the NCAA's top-25 for most of the season.
- Stubblefield, Bryant, Davis, and Johnson are Omaha's top newcomers coming into this season. Stubblefield was named 6A Player of the Year and First Team All-State while at Blue Valley Northwest and Bryant was named the Austin Area Player of the Year at Cedar Ridge. Johnson is coming off his second season at Western Nebraska CC where he was named All-Conference and All-Nebraska, while Davis is fresh off winning GAC Defensive Player of the Year and a trip to the Sweet 16 of the Division II NCAA Tournament with Southern Nazarene.
- Head Coach Chris Crutchfield has a 20-33 overall record. It marks his third season as a head coach and second with the Mavericks.
