Silvis, Ill.-- The Omaha women's golf team is in second place after the first two rounds of the WIU Invitational on Monday, Apr. 3.

The Mavericks recorded 312 in the first round and 311 in the second, totaling 623 over 36 holes. They fall 18 strokes behind Western Illinois, which holds first place with a team score of 605.

Nicole Hansen is tied for first place through two rounds. Hansen posted scores of 73 (+2) and 74 (+3) for a day one total of 147. She shares the lead with Western Illinois' Natalie Hooper. Also in the top-10 is Sydney Taake. Taake notched an 80 in the first round and a 76 (+5) in the second round for a 36-hole total of 156, good for ninth place overall.

Emily Karmazin, Mika Miyata, and Macarena Garcia are all in the top-20 after the first day of the WIU invite. Karmazin recorded scores of 78 (+7) and 82 for a total of 160 and a share of 14th place. Miyata is in 17th place with a two-round score of 162. Garcia is a stroke behind Miyata with a score of 163, and currently shares 18th place.

Golfing individually, Emma Kirvan posted an 84 in round one and a 79 (+8) in round two. Kirvan shares 18th place overall with a 36-hole total of 163. Three strokes behind Kirvan is Maddie Simon. Simon shares 20th place with scores of 81 and 85 over the first two rounds.
