CHICAGO – Omaha Women's Tennis fell to UIC, 6-1, on the road on Thursday afternoon.

The Mavericks (2-4) did secure the doubles point to open the match. No. 82 Nina Wiese and Katelynn Kock sealed the point for Omaha with a 7-5 win over UIC's Anais Brion and Edit Cosmo. Shelby Smith and Khayli Buckels put the Mavs in position to win the point with a 6-4 win over Charlotte Deletioglu and Marta Halbersztadt of UIC.

"Disappointing result today," head coach Adam Summitt said. "I thought we started Really well in doubles. We competed hard and had great energy, but once singles started, we were flat throughout every match. The lack of energy and focus hurt us right away. It either allowed our opponents to seize momentum and run with it, or we were constantly trying to catch up. Either way it's something we have to turn around tomorrow against DePaul."

The Mavericks are back tomorrow to face DePaul at 12:30 p.m. Live stats and a live stream will be available.
