Allibone Earns NCC Honor
Sophomore 157-pounder Patrick Allibone has been named a North Central Conference wrestler of the week. The Maverick from Sioux City, Iowa, ranked No. 8 in NCAA II, scored a 4-0 decision over Augustana's Austin Scarset last Friday to improve to 28-7 on the season.
Allibone shares the honor with Augustana's Dusty Wilking. The Vikings defeated UNO 20-19 in Omaha in the final dual meet of the season.
Allibone used a first period takedown, a third period escape and 2:23 in riding time to secure the win.
The Mavericks and Allibone will next wrestle in the NCAA II North Central Regional on Sunday at Marshall, Minn. The top four wrestlers in each weight class will advance to the NCAA II meet in Omaha March 11-12.
