Herold, Hochstein Add to Honors
Senior tight end Zac Herold and junior offensive lineman Ben Hochstein continued to add to their list of laurels for the 2006 season with their selection to the D2Football.com first-team All-American squad.
Herold, who was a 2005 All-American was also an all-North Central Confernce and Daktronics all-region pick. By adding the D2Football.com honor, Herold joins Hochstein as a two-time pick. The only other players in school history to earn All-America honors in two different years were Bill Englehardt in 1955-56, Chris Bober in 1998-99 and Chad Geiger in 2000-01.
Hochstein, the NCC's most valuable offensive lineman, was also a first-team pick for the Associated Press Little All-America team.
The Mavericks, who finished the year 8-3 and won their third straight NCC title, landed in the No. 7 spot in D2Football.com's final Top 25 Poll.
