McLeay Named To AVCA All-Region Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo - Senior outside hitter Amy McLeay was named to the 2004 AVCA All-North Central Region team announced today by the American Volleyball Coaches Association in Colorado Springs.
McLeay, who earned all-North Central Conference honors this season, ranked second in the NCC with 4.00 kills per NCC game. She led this year's squad with 425 kills and was second with 329 digs. She was named NCC player of the week twice during the season. McLeay led the Mavericks in kills in 18 of 28 matches and was the team leader with 15 double-doubles.
McLeay, who was named MVP of the North Alabama Classic, helped lead the Mavericks to a 17-11 record and their first appearance in the NCAA II Tournament since the 2000 season. McLeay, along with fellow Maverick Christie Johnson, was also named to the NCAA II North Central Regional all-tournament team.
