
UNO Wins With a Flourish, 94-60

The University of Nebraska-Omaha men's basketball team picked up right where it left off after a holiday break, winning its third straight game, 94-60, over Dana College Friday night at Sapp Fieldhouse.
Keith Price, making his season debut, and Justin Petersen, playing his third game, punctuated the victory with highlight reel dunks in the final minute in a game the Mavericks (9-4) led wire-to-wire. Price totalled 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting, adding six rebounds, as Petersen chipped in 11 points with a team-high seven rebounds.
Zac Robinson again led UNO, this time with 20 points, including three more 3-pointers. This was his eighth 20-point effort of the season. Michael Jenkins had another strong game, as well, scoring 17.
The Mavericks were hot out of the gate, scoring the first 11 points of the game, including two 3-point baskets by Jenkins. UNO rolled of 10-0 run later in the first half, which included three points from Ryan Pace, who also saw his first action of the year, having recovered from offseason knee surgery. The Mavs led 45-27 at the half, having shot 53 percent.
UNO kept the hot hands in the second half, hitting 19-of-26 shots for 73 percent, while holding Dana (4-11) to only 30 percent for the second half and 32 percent overall.
Jared Kitzelman led the Vikings with 15 points.
The Mavericks return to action on Sunday, hosting Concordia-St. Paul at 1 p.m.
