UNO Travels to Missouri Western Invitational

The Maverick volleyball team (3-0) will stay on the road this week as they head to St. Joseph, Mo. to compete in the Missouri Western Ramada Inn Invitational on Fri.-Sat., Sept. 1-2.
Nebraska-Omaha will open the tournament on Friday with a 2 p.m. match against Emporia State (2-2) followed by a 6 p.m. contest with Fort Hays State (0-4). UNO will take on tournament host Missouri Western (4-0) at noon on Saturday before concluding the tournament with a 4 p.m. clash against Northwest Missouri State (3-1).
The Record
The Mavericks are currently 3-0 on the season after going undefeated last weekend at the Central Missouri State Jennies Challenge. UNO opened the tournament by upsetting 10th-ranked CMSU in five games. The Mavericks then swept Pittsburg State and William Jewell in three games to close out the tournament with an unblemished record.
The Rankings
In the CSTV/AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25 preseason poll released on Aug. 21, Nebraska-Omaha was ranked No. 24. The next poll will be released on Monday, Sept. 4.
