UNO Drops 80-58 Decision at Minnesota State

MANKATO, Minn. -- Minnesota State, Mankato recovered from a slow start to defeat UNO, 80-58, Saturday at Bresnan Arena to claim a share of the North Central Conference title. The Mavericks will play at St. Cloud State on Wednesday in the first round of the post-season tournament.
UNO fell to 12-15 on the year and 3-9 in the NCC and Minnesota State advanced to 24-3 and 10-2.
Keith Price led UNO with 13 points and Zac Robinson added 11 for the Mavericks, who hit four of their first five shots to jump off to a 10-2 start in the game. But MSU, after a timeout, turned up the heat, scoring 10 straight points and hitting almost 54 percent the first half to take a 37-25 lead into the break.
UNO couldn't get any closer the rest of the way, although the Mavs did battle back with some short runs. But each time, MSU had the answer, hitting 7 of 14 from behind the arc the second half and 51.5 percent from the field.
Luke Anderson led four double-figure scorers for MSU with 22 points. Tony Thompson added 17, Jake Morrow 16 to go with nine rebounds and Paris Kyles 11.
