Regis is UNO's First Home Foe Friday

The Mavericks will open their home schedule Friday when they host Regis University on their new field, located at 68th and Spring Streets.
Coach Don Klosterman's team, currently ranked No. 6 in NCAA Division II, will be trying to get into the win column after opening the year with a pair of losses in California.
This will be the second meeting all-time with Regis, a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. UNO won the previous meeting, 2-1, in 2004 in Denver. The Rangers were 11-7-4 last year under coach J.B. Belzer.
Following Friday's action, the Mavericks will play three times on the road, beginning with a Sept. 8 match at Truman State. UNO then opens North Central Conference play Sept. 15 at Minnesota Duluth and Sept. 16 at Minnesota State, Mankato.
The two setbacks last weekend mark the first time in the program's nine-year history that the Mavericks have opened with two losses. Only once before did UNO lose two straight, in 2000, in the second year of the program.
Amanda Iwansky scored UNO's only goal in a 2-1 loss at Cal State-Dominguez Hills and Dani McCawley tied the game in the first half of a 3-1 loss to No. 5 ranked UC-San Diego Sunday.
