
Christensen Leads UNO to Win Over Coyotes

OMAHA, Neb. -- Senior Carlie Christensen blasted a season-high 21 kills on .432 hitting while adding seven blocks to lead the 21st-ranked Nebraska-Omaha volleyball team to a 3-1 (23-30, 30-28, 30-23, 30-22) North Central Conference victory over South Dakota Friday night at the Sapp Fieldhouse.
With the win, UNO improved to 9-6 overall and 2-2 in the NCC. South Dakota fell to 16-3 and 1-2. Senior setter Katie Agnew directed a balanced UNO attack as five Mavericks notched double-figure kill totals.
Joining Christensen in double figures were Ellen Thommes (17), Nicole McLeod (13), Kelli Goeser (12), and Sara Kampschnider (12).
Agnew collected her team-leading 10th double-double with 62 assists and 12 digs while guiding UNO to a .248 attack percentage.
McLeod led the UNO defensive effort with a career-high 22 digs. It was McLeod's second double-double in her last three matches. Annie Rice collected 20 digs and Kayla Jansen added 18 as the Mavericks held a 100 to 83 advantage in total digs.
The Mavericks will entertain third-ranked and NCC leading Minnesota Duluth next Friday, Oct. 5 in the Sapp Fieldhouse.
