WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The University of Nebraska at Omaha soccer season came to an end Friday afternoon as the Mavericks lost to Texas A&M-Commerce, 1-0, in the first round of the NCAA II South Central tournament in Warrensburg, Mo. UNO finishes the season with an overall record of 13-6-0.
The Lions (15-3-3) scored the only goal of the match when forward Meagan Lasley scored an unassisted goal at the 22:57 mark in the first half.
UNO managed to out-shoot Texas A&M-Commerce by a 14-6 margin, but were unable to get anything past Lions' goalie Taylor Jordan who had six saves in the match. UNO also held an 8-2 edge in corner kicks.
#Elizabeth Odorisio# started the second half and collected UNO's only two saves in the contest.
The match was the final in the career of four Maverick seniors, #Casey Bigsby#, #Amanda Iwansky#, #MaryClaire Murnan and Tara Wegehaupt#.
