Klosterman Announces Two Signings for 2009 Soccer

Caitlin Stier, from Omaha's Westside High School, and Amanda Kautz, from O'Gorman High School in Sioux Falls, S.D., will join the Mavericks after the team went 13-6 last year and played in its seventh straight NCAA tournament.
Stier played goalkeeper for the Warriors and earned first team all-Nebraska as a sophomore and junior. She helped Westside to state runner-up finishes as her team went 18-4 as a junior and 18-5 as a sophomore. She played club soccer for the Omaha Tango under UNO assistant coach Ed Dudley.
Kautz earned all-South Dakota honorable mention while playing forward and midfielder for the Knights. She helped lead the team to state titles in 2007 and 2008 and her club team, Dakota Gold Adrenaline, was state champions from 2003-07. Kautz will be a forward on the UNO team.
The Mavericks lose four seniors from last year's team that went 13-6-0 and finished 11-5-0 and third in its first season in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. Klosterman will be guiding the Mavericks to their 10th season as a program this fall.
