Women's Soccer Set to Host Creighton at Caniglia Field

OMAHA — The Omaha women's soccer team (1-3-3) is set to face off against Creighton (3-3-1) on Wednesday night at Caniglia Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT, with the match streaming on MidcoSportsPlus. Fans can purchase here. Wednesday will also serve as the annual Kicks for a Cure match and Blackout Night.
The Mavericks enter Wednesday following a 1-1 draw against Drake on Saturday at Caniglia Field. Senior defender and captain Jasmyn Brown (Wichita, Kan.) opened the scoring in the 46th minute, connecting on a diving header off a free kick from junior forward Charley Kort (Lincoln, Neb.). The goal was Brown's first of the season and Omaha's first at Caniglia Field in 2026.
Senior goalkeeper Cadence Fagan (Aubrey, Texas) made six saves against the Bulldogs, including a pair of key stops before Drake found the equalizer in the 79th minute. Omaha finished the match with eight shots, four on goal and six corner kicks.
Brown and sophomore forward Kendall Dobberstein (Omaha, Neb.) have accounted for Omaha's two goals this season. Graduate forward Payten Ivins (West Haven, Utah) leads the Mavericks with 15 shots, while Dobberstein and junior forward Haylee Braun (St. Louis, Mo.) have each recorded eight.Â
Creighton enters Wednesday with a 3-3-1 record after falling 3-0 to Gonzaga on Sunday at Morrison Stadium. The loss snapped a four-match unbeaten streak and a stretch of 429 minutes without allowing a goal. Prior to Sunday, the Bluejays had earned three consecutive 1-0 victories over Kansas City, Missouri and Northern Colorado.
Omaha and Creighton will meet for the 12th time in series history. The two teams last met on Sept. 10, 2025, when the Mavericks took a 2-0 first-half lead behind a pair of goals from Kort before Creighton rallied for a 3-2 victory.
Following Wednesday's match, Omaha will open Summit League play against St. Thomas on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 6:30 p.m. CT at Caniglia Field.
