Mavericks Earn Fifth Seed In Postseason Tournament

MIAA Men's Tennis Championship Tournament
The UNO men's tennis team earned the fifth overall seed in the 2010 Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Tennis Championship Tournament. The Mavs' match is slated to start Saturday, April 24 at 11:30 a.m. against the fourth seeded Truman State Bulldogs.
Should the Mavericks defeat TSU, they will face off against top overall seed Northwest Missouri State just a few hours later at 2:30 p.m. Following Saturday's action is the championship final, which is scheduled for Sunday at 9 a.m.
If UNO fails to defeat Truman State, it will enter the fifth place contest against the loser of the Southwest Baptist vs. Emporia State match on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
In the Mavs' first match against Truman State on April 17, UNO fell 7-2 while being swept in doubles play. #Drew Mercier# won in No. 1 singles that day over Peter Bracha of Truman, 7-5, 3-6 (10-8). The other Maverick victory came from freshman #Andrew Lescelius# in No. 6 singles.
The women's bracket will be finalized by Friday evening.
