Aug 9, 2011 | Men's Soccer
OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO men's soccer team will take the practice field as a team for the first time ever on Wednesday, as the Mavs kick off fall practice with an 8-10 a.m., training session at the UNO Soccer Field at 6808 Spring Street.
The practice will be the first of two on Wednesday, as the squad will also train from 6-8 p.m., at the UNO Soccer Field. The Mavs will have the same practice schedule Thursday and Friday as well.
"We are excited now to have a team in place and are so ready to get on the field and start training," Head Coach Jason Mims said. "It looks like temperatures are going to be a little bit cooler than they have been in the past month or so, so we're going to make the most of it."
The Mavs open the season on Friday, Aug. 26 at UMKC. The home opener is set for Sunday, Aug. 28 vs. UC Irvine at the UNO Soccer Field.
