OREM, Utah – Omaha Men's Soccer tied Utah Valley, 1-1, after a late-night bout on the road.

The Mavericks (2-0-2) tallied four shots on goal to the Wolverines (3-0-1) one shot on goal.

Senior midfielder Brett Perkins (Gretna, Neb.) scored the first and only goal for the Mavericks on a penalty kick to the bottom center of the net in the 58th minute. It was Perkins' second goal of the season. Two goals in a season makes it a career-best for the captain.

UVU tied up the match in the 67th minute thanks to a goal from the Wolverines' Jose Luis Martin Montealegre.

The Mavericks will head further west to face UCLA at 9 p.m. CT on Sunday, Sept. 6. The match will be streamed on Big Ten+. Live stats will be available.
