OMAHA – The Omaha men's soccer team (7-3-3, 2-0-1) captured its third consecutive win Friday night with a 3-1 victory over Oral Roberts (2-6-4, 0-2-1).

Oral Roberts had a couple of good looks in the ninth minute, but Kamy Ndione recorded two terrific saves to keep the Golden Eagles off the board. Oral Roberts was awarded a penalty kick in the 18th minute, but Ndione got a piece of the shot with his right foot to deny the goal.

Neither team generated much offense for the remainder of the first half, but the Summit League's top offense broke through in the 52nd minute. Maguire Perkins started the scoring sequence by passing to Amari Fowlkes, who found Italo Jenkins for the finish. Jenkins converted for his sixth goal of the season to give the Mavs the lead.

Ten minutes later, the Mavs struck again as Jenkins passed to Derek Johnson, who fired from beyond the box and found the back of the net for his third goal of the season. Jenkins recorded his second assist of the season and is now tied with Brett Perkins for the team lead with 14 points.

Johnson struck again in the 72nd minute to record his first career brace and put the Mavs ahead 3-0. The Golden Eagles responded 56 seconds later, but that would be their final goal as the Mavs held on for the win.

Omaha will return to action Tuesday night against Drake at 7 p.m.
