OMAHA - The Omaha men's soccer team (7-3-3, 2-0-1) faces Drake (4-5-4, 0-3-1) in its final nonconference match of the season on Tuesday night at Caniglia Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on the Summit League Network.
THE PRIMER - Omaha returns home Tuesday night for its final nonconference match of the season as it hosts Drake at Caniglia Field. Drake enters the match with a 4-5-4 overall record and an 0-3-1 mark in Missouri Valley Conference play. The Bulldogs have either lost or tied their last six matches, while Omaha enters on a three-match winning streak and has won or tied five of its last six matches. The Mavericks' lone loss during that stretch came against No. 4 Creighton.
SERIES SNAPSHOT - The two teams have met nine times, including once in each of the last five seasons. The teams have tied in their last four meetings, including a 1-1 draw last season in Des Moines.
IN THE REARVIEW - Three goals in the first 27 minutes of the second half propelled Omaha to a 3-1 victory over Oral Roberts. Kamy Ndione made a crucial penalty kick save in the first half to keep the Golden Eagles off the board. Italo Jenkins opened the scoring in the 52nd minute, and Derek Johnson recorded his first career brace to lead the Mavericks to victory.
CHECK THE RANKS - Omaha checked in at fourth in the West Region in the United Soccer Coaches poll, its highest ranking of the season.
OFFENSIVE FIREPOWER - Expect plenty of offense Tuesday night as the Mavericks have been rolling offensively this season. Omaha's offensive turnaround has been impressive, as the Mavericks have already scored more goals this season than they did all of 2025. Omaha has scored 33 goals this season after tallying just 17 last year. The Mavericks' 33 goals lead the Summit League and rank 11th nationally. Omaha also ranks first in the Summit League and 98th nationally with 2.54 goals per game. The Mavericks lead the conference in shots per game as well.
NOT JUST WINNING... - It has been quite the turnaround for the Mavericks this season after they won just five matches last year. Omaha has won seven matches this season and is looking to tie the school record of 10 wins in a season. The Mavericks lead the Summit League and rank 11th nationally in goal differential, outscoring their opponents by 18 goals this season.
KEEP YOUR EYES OUT FOR - Senior forward Italo Jenkins (Atlanta, Ga.) returns for his third season with the Mavericks. Last year, he tallied five goals in 841 minutes to finish as the team's second-leading goal scorer. Jenkins has already recorded six goals and two assists this season.
Senior midfielder Brett Perkins (Gretna, Neb.) is in his fourth year with the Mavericks and serves as team captain. Last year, he recorded two assists in 930 minutes. Perkins has tallied six goals and two assists to lead the Mavericks this season. He is the only remaining member of the 2023 Omaha squad that won the Summit League Tournament.
Senior goalkeeper Kamy Ndione (Osaka, Japan) is back between the posts for Omaha. Last season, he played 900 minutes, recording 33 saves and two shutouts. Ndione has posted five clean sheets this season and recorded a career-high nine saves against Western Illinois. He has already made 43 saves this season, surpassing his total from all of last year.
SPREADING THE LOVE - The Mavericks have received contributions throughout the lineup this season, with 13 different players scoring a goal and eight recording an assist. Brett Perkins and Italo Jenkins lead the way with six goals and two assists apiece.
FEARLESS LEADERS - Dowling enters his fifth season at the helm of the Mavericks with a 33-33-16 record. He is joined by associate head coach Josh McReynolds, who is in his fifth season, assistant coach Ed Gordon, who is in his third season, and assistant coach Brendan Dally, who is in his second season.
