
Spring Schedule Features Match at Colorado Rapids

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's soccer team will play an exhibition against Major League Soccer's Colorado Rapids as part of its 2014 spring schedule.
The Mavericks will begin their spring season with a home match against Bradley on Saturday, March 1 at 2 p.m. at Caniglia Field. Bradley went 14-6-2 in 2013 and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
UNO will then hit the road three times to play against professional teams. On Saturday, March 8, the Mavs will take on Oklahoma City Energy FC of the USL PRO. On Sunday, March 23, the Mavs will play the highlight of their schedule at Dick's Sporting Goods Park against the Colorado Rapids. The Rapids will host the Portland Timbers on Saturday, and on Sunday the Mavs will play against the Rapids players who didn't play in the game the day before. Omaha also plays at Minnesota United FC of the North American Soccer League on Saturday, April 5.
The Mavs close the spring on Friday, April 18 with a 7 p.m. game against Iowa Western Community College, the 2013 NJCAA National Champions with a 24-0-1 record.
