LITTLETON, Colo. – The Omaha women's golf team is 18th after the first round of the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate at Denver on Friday.
The Mavericks shot a four-player team score of 315 through 18 holes at the Highlands Ranch Golf Course and are 10 strokes behind the closest team, North Dakota. Host Denver and San Francisco are tied for the lead at 282, six under par. Little Rock and Washington State are tied for third at 285.
Katie Kesti led the Mavericks on day one with a score of 76, putting her in a tie for 62nd in the massive field of 99 golfers. She's one stroke ahead of teammate Mandy Boyle and Jordan York at 77. They're tied for 74th.
Makenna Kroeker is fourth for UNO and 97th at 85 and Alexa Ruwe completed the scoring with a card of 90.
The second round begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
