
Omaha Men's Tennis Adds Two to 2015 Recruiting Class

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha men's tennis coach Tyson Thomas announced the additions of Sean Padios and Alex Woodward to the 2015 Maverick recruiting class on Wednesday. The duo recently signed their National Letters of Intent to play for UNO and join a class that already includes prep standouts Matt Dunn and Brent McKnight.
"These guys love the game of tennis and want to bring their games to another level and train hard," said Thomas. "I believe they will compete for spots in the lineup and have a big impact on the team."
Sean Padios | Omaha, Neb. (Westside)
Sean Padios is a three-time state qualifier from Westside High School in Omaha, Neb. As a senior, Padios earned Honorable Mention All-State Tennis honors with a 12-7 record at number one doubles. As a junior, he played number one singles compiling a 17-13 record and advancing to the second round of the Nebraska state tennis tournament.
Coach Thomas on Padios: "Sean brings an abundance of natural talent to the team. He has some doubles skills that could immediately help the team. I'm very excited to see how far we can take him once we get going."
Alex Woodward | Lincoln, Neb. (Lincoln Southwest)
Alex Woodward is a two-time state qualifier from Lincoln Southwest High School. Over the past two seasons, Woodward compiled a 51-5 overall record for the Silverhawks at the number one and number two singles spots. As a junior, Woodward anchored the Lincoln Southwest state championship team and was runner-up at number two singles with a 34-3 record.
Coach Thomas on Woodward: "Alex brings an incredible work ethic that is going to help him immediately adapt to college tennis. Alex is going to bring some great singles experience to the team."
Coach Thomas expressed his excitement about the 2015 recruiting class. "I am very excited to start working with the incoming freshmen. These guys all have the right attitude and loads of talent and each one of them are bringing valuable traits to the team."
