Women's Soccer Hosts Drake, Visits Minnesota

OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha women's soccer team plays two non-conference games this weekend. UNO hosts Drake on Friday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m., then travels to Minnesota on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 1 p.m.
The Mavericks are looking to rebound from last weekend where they went 0-1-1. Live stats and video streaming will be available for both contests at OMavs.com.
Maverick Quick Hits
- Rohloff's goal: Rohloff scored off a pass from Marin Dregelid in Sunday's game. It was her first score of the season and the 13th goal in her Omaha career.
- Dregelid's assist: Dregelid's assist against North Dakota was her first of the season. It also gave her three points on the year, which leads UNO.
- Schochenmaier saves: Sophomore goalkeeper Katlyn Schochenmaier played the second half against Creighton on Friday and the entire match on Sunday. She made 15 saves in Sunday's tie, which tied a 14 year team record.
- POW: Katlyn Schochenmaier was named Summit League Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday. She faced 27 shots and made career-high 15 saves to tie school record in draw against North Dakota. For the week, Schochenmaier collected 18 saves and recorded a .900 save pct. in 155 minutes over two appearances.
- Got a Minute?: Defenders Ava Doetsch and Katie Vanderzwaag were the only players to play in all 200 minutes of action this weekend.
- The Streak Continues: Omaha's unbeaten streak against North Dakota has reached eight straight games. The last loss to UND was on Oct. 28, 2005.
- Preseason Predictions: Omaha was picked to finish fifth in the preseason Summit League Coaches Poll. Last season, the Mavericks defeated preseason favorite Denver and post season tournament champion South Dakota State.
Dissecting Drake
- The Drake Bulldogs have started the season 2-4-0 and are in the midst of a four-game road trip.
- The Bulldogs are 1-3 on the road and 1-1 at home this season.
- Drake is 1-1 against Summit League teams so far including a 6-2 win over USD on Aug. 27.
- Alyssa Brand leads Drake with six points on three goals. Rebecca Rodgers has four points on two goals.
- Goalkeeper Brooke Dennis has a 1.46 goals against average and a .769 save percentage on the year. Dennis is 2-4-0 in the net this fall.
- The Bulldogs are looking to get their offense going again as they have tallied just three goals during the losing streak, after scoring a season-high six goals in the win at South Dakota.
Series vs. Drake
Friday marks the third meeting between the two schools. The Bulldogs lead the all-time series, 2-1.
Last season, Drake needed a Kayla Armstrong goal in the first overtime to take a 2-1 win. Drake's Rhian Pritchard opened the scoring in the 5th minute off a corner kick. Chelsi Rohloff tied the game in the 60th minute with an unassisted goal before Armstrong's game-winner in overtime.
Going over the Golden Gophers
- Minnesota is 3-1-2 overall and went1-0-1 last weekend that included two overtime games.
- On Sunday, the Golden Gophers tied Texas Tech in double overtime in Lubbock, 0-0. Goalkeeper Tarah Hobbs made 10 saves in the game.
- On Friday, Minnesota defeated Marquette 2-1 in overtime. Defender Haley Helverson scored in the game winner in the 94th minute.
- Minnesota has scored only four goals in their first six games of the season, but have only given up one score.
- Simone Kolander leads the team with two goals, while Helverson and Tori Burnett have the other two goals.
- Hobbs has played every minute in goal this season and has 34 saves.
- Helverson was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week and April Bockin was tabbed as the Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week.
- The University of Minnesota women's soccer team has been voted as the number six team in the Big Ten according to the 2015 Big Ten women's soccer preseason coaches' poll.
Series vs. Minnesota
Sunday's game will be the first meeting between the two programs.
