Ghitis, Moulton Named Summit League Players of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – Omaha's Mark Moulton was named Summit League Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week while goalie Joseph Ghitis garnered the league's Defensive Player of the Week award for their performances Aug. 31-Sept. 7.
Moulton earned his third career Offensive Player of the Week Award. He led Omaha to a 2-0 week with two goals, one assist and five points. Moulton scored the game-winner in the 1-0 shutout win over No. 13 UC Irvine and added a goal and assist in the 4-1 win over Cal State Northridge.
Moulton's three goals and seven points lead The Summit League this season.
Ghitis recorded his first career Defensive Player of the Week honor. He faced nine shots and made six saves in the shutout win over No. 13 UC Irvine.
Ghitis has a 3-0-0 record this season with a 0.67 goals against average and .818 save percentage.
The Mavericks' 4-0 start is the best in program history and they are riding a seven-match win streak dating back to last season. Omaha plays at Marquette on Friday, Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. They then travel to DePaul on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 1 p.m.
