Grigorescu Named Summit League Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – Freshman Razvan Grigorescu earned Summit League Men's Tennis Player of the Week accolades for his performance through Jan. 23, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Grigorescu captured his first career Player of the Week honor after beginning his collegiate career with No. 1 singles victories over No. 18 Spencer Papa of Oklahoma (6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7)) and Nebraska's Toby Boyer (6-3, 4-6, 6-1). He teamed with Colin Buckley to score a 6-1 victory at No.1 doubles as Mavericks swept Nebraska for the doubles point.
His singles win knotted the Nebraska match at 3-all, setting the stage for the Mavericks first win, 4-3, over its intrastate foe and the program's initial victory over a Power 5 team.
Omaha returns to action this weekend, welcoming Northern Illinois on Saturday, Jan. 28 at noon and North Dakota on Sunday, Jan. 29 at 10 a.m. Miracle Hill Golf and Tennis Center will host both matches.
