
Maverick Trio Earn All-League Honors

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Three Omaha men's tennis players were named to the 2017 All-Summit League Men's Tennis Team, the conference office announced Thursday evening. The team included freshmen Razvan Grigorescu, Louis-Jonas Heizlsperger and Nathan Reekie.
Grigorescu was also honored as Summit League Newcomer of the Year, to highlight Omaha's all-conference haul.
Grigorescu was a four-time Summit League Player of the Week and won a team-high 14 matches while finishing 3-1 in conference action. He is currently ranked 87th in the latest Oracle/ITA Division I Collegiate Rankings. The Constanta, Romania, native is the first Omaha player to be named Newcomer of the Year.
Reekie played most of the season at No. 2 singles going 6-5 and also 3-2 at No. 3 and 1-2 at No. 4. Overall, Reekie won 10 matches in singles and was 3-1 in Summit League play. He also earned eight wins in doubles.
Heizelsperger finished with six singles wins and a 3-1 mark in conference action. He split time at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles this season.
Denver's Yannik James was tabbed Summit League Player of the Year, while DU's Ricardo Rubio was named Coach of the Year.
