Men’s Tennis Blanked by Valparaiso

VALPARAISO, Ind. – The Omaha men's tennis team lost a 7-0 decision to Valparaiso on Saturday. With the loss, the Mavericks are now 8-14 overall and 1-4 in Summit League action. The Crusaders improved to 13-4 (3-2).
Valparaiso won two doubles matches to earn the first point of the match. Brandon Ancona and Kweisi Kenyatte defeated Davis Lawley and Nathan Reekie at No. 1, 6-3. Hugo Piles Ballester and Ethan Henry fell 6-3 to Chad Kissell and Franklin Brozovich at No. 3. Abdoul Ouattara and Matt Dunn's match at No. 2 went unfinished.
The Crusaders swept all six singles matches to complete the shutout. Ouattara fell to Ancona 7-5, 6-7 (9), 1-0 (3) on court one. Piles Ballester fell 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 to Kenyatte on court two. Lawley took the first set 7-6 (5) from Brian Pecyna but dropped the next two 6-1, 6-2. Henry took the opening set against Brozovich 6-3 but dropped the next two 6-2, 6-1 on court six.
Omaha returns to action on Sunday, April 14, against No. 27 Notre Dame. First serve is set for 3:30 p.m. in Notre Dame, Ind.
