Lawley Named Summit League Athlete of the Week

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Sophomore Davis Lawley was named Summit League Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week after helping the Omaha men's tennis team sweep their two matches at home last weekend.
Lawley was a perfect 4-0 in his singles and doubles matches vs. Creighton and Saint Louis.
The Fargo, N.D., native teamed up with Abdoul Ouattara to post a 6-1 victory in the No. 2 doubles match against Creighton on Friday night. In singles action, Lawley split the first two sets with Creighton's Jose Oscar Diaz before Lawley won the match in the third set due to opponent retiring to injury.
The Mavericks wrapped up the weekend at home with a 7-0 victory over Saint Louis. Lawley and Ouattara posted a 6-1 victory in the No. 2 doubles match while Lawley defeated Malik Amao in two sets (6-0, 6-1) to clinch the perfect 4-0 weekend.
The Mavericks venture north this weekend for a pair of matches in Grand Forks, N.D. Omaha will take on Green Bay on Saturday at 2 p.m. before battling Summit League foe North Dakota on Sunday at 9 a.m.
