Omaha Drops Sunday Match at Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. – The Omaha men's tennis team fell 4-3 at Tulsa on Sunday afternoon in Tulsa, Okla.
The loss drops the Mavericks to 3-8 on the season.
Doubles Play
Matt Hulme and Nathan Reekie teamed up to win the No. 1 match and give the Mavericks a 1-0 advantage in doubles before Tulsa responded by winning the next two matches to clinch the doubles point.
Singles Play
Abdoul Ouattara tied the match at one with a two-set victory in the No. 1 match, 6-2, 6-1. The Golden Hurricane posted a victory in No. 5 while Hulme recorded a 6-3, 6-4 victory in No. 2. With the match tied at two, Tulsa recorded victories in the No. 3 and No. 6 matches to clinch the victory. Davis Lawley got the victory in No. 4 due to the opponent retiring.

"Today was a close loss to a good team. We had our opportunities at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to take the match but couldn't quite capitalize. After tough losses yesterday, it was good to see Abdoul and Matt come out in dominating fashion in singles today. The Mavericks return home to host Kansas City on Friday, March 13 at 6 p.m. and Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday, March 14 at 1 p.m.
