Men's Tennis Earns Academic Recognition from ITA

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's tennis team has been designated an ITA All-Academic Team and eight Mavericks have been recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes for 2019-20, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced on Monday.
The Mavericks compiled a 3.51 cumulative grade-point average in the 2019-20 academic year for ITA All-Academic Team recognition. ITA Scholar-Athlete award winners included Ethan Henry, Davis Lawley, Abdoul Ouattara, Hugo Piles Ballester, Alvaro Quintana, Nathan Reekie, Mason Sniatynski and Jacob Weber.
The Mavericks were one of just two teams in the Summit League recognized as an ITA All-Academic Team with Valparaiso also earning the award.
The ITA All-Academic Team is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or above on a 4.0 scale. All varsity lettterwinners are factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
In order to earn the ITA Scholar-Athlete honor, a student-athlete must have a GPA of at least a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
