Mavericks Announce 2022 Schedule

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha men's coach Matthew Barlow has released his schedule for the 2022 season.
The Mavericks open play in three weeks with a twin bill at Arkansas on Jan. 12. A road match at Nebraska on Jan. 15 follows before Omaha starts its home slate by playing Washburn twice on Jan. 29.
"The guys and I are really excited about this year's schedule," Barlow said. "We start earlier than normal this year, and it will be important that our guys take holiday break training seriously to set us up for a competitive start."
In all, the Mavericks play at home six times in 2022. They host Chicago State and Illinois Chicago on Feb. 18-19 then take on Creighton on March 19. Drake and Denver then come to Omaha in early April. The April 10 home finale is at the Koch Tennis Center. All other home matches take place at Miracle Hills.
The Mavericks will also host the Summit League Championship at Koch on April 22-23.
Omaha has road trips that will take it to Arkansas, Colorado and Wisconsin before it opens conference play at North Dakota on Feb. 27. Trips to Kansas, Oklahoma and Florida follow in early March.
"I like the variety in our schedule consisting of multiple Power-Five opponents and strong mid-major schools that will help us prepare for our conference matches," Barlow said. "Of course, taking on in-town rival Creighton at home will always be a fun match to be a part of. If we show up in January ready to compete, it should be a fun year."
