Freshman Chen Lands Weekly Summit Honor

Omaha's Todd Chen has been named the Summit League's Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week.
The freshman from Taiwan went 3-0 over the weekend, and was leading in an unfinished fourth match, as the Mavericks posted wins over Youngstown State and Marquette on consecutive days in Milwaukee.
Chen's three-set win over Harry Fouzas of YSU at No. 4 singles helped Omaha top the Penguins 4-3 Saturday. He and Victor Sklenka were leading in their doubles match as their team clinched the point.
On Sunday, Chen and Alvaro Quintana won their match at No. 3 doubles to stake the Mavericks to an early lead over Marquette. Chen then dominated MU's Ian Brady at No. 4 singles in his 6-1, 6-1 victory that aided Omaha in its 5-2 win.
